3. 3-Strike Policy
Membership
Level Requirement : Level 20 (no level limits for alts after attaining full member status)

Age Requirement: 21 Years of Age is required. Exceptions (IN RARE INSTANCES) can be made for those younger players that exhibit the ability to be; 1.) patient, 2.) selfless (ability to think of others first above yourself), and 3.) polite.

Step 1
Prospective member must go to our message board and or website and read the Celestial Charter and Etiquette Guide. At this time, the prospective member will post in the Membership thread of the Celestial Storm message board and state their reasons for wanting to join CS and at least one member of CS who will vouch for him/her.

The prospective member must answer the following questions in their initial request to join:

Why do you want to join CS?
Who do you know in the guild?
Who is the High Sword (guild leader)?
What are your goals and why do you play EQ?

Step 2
Vouching member of Celestial Storm must post under Membership on the CS message board their reasons why they are vouching for this person. The vouching member will ultimately be responsible for the actions of those they vouch for.

Step 3
The vouching member must have played with the prospective member for at least a week. A Celestial Storm officer will confirm with the sponsor their willingness to vouch for the prospect and then, once confirmed, will invite the new member. At this time the inviting officer will provide the new member with a list of Leaders/Officers/Positions, and instruct them to go to the new member section of our Message Board and write a little summary about themselves and any skills, etc which could be of a benefit to the guild. New member may not invite alts to the guild until they have established full member status. Inviting officer MUST post the date of the new member's invitation to the guild.

Step 4
New member will be on a trial basis for one month from the date of their invitation to the guild. During this time, the new member will be under a no-tolerance policy. Once the new member is a full member the 3-strike policy will be enforced.

Step 5
At the end of one month's time, trial member's status will come to a vote in the officer's forum. On receiving full membership status to the guild, the new member may then invite alts level 10 and up and have full access to the guild bank and members only message board. If ONE officer vetoes this person's full membership status, then the trial member will have the option of 1.) moving on, or 2.) staying in the guild for one more month to try to convince the officers that they are indeed worthy of Celestial Storm. At the end of this second month, trial member will come to another vote in the officer's forum at which time full membership status will be granted or trial member will be /guildremoved without further chance to be welcomed into the Celestial Storm family.

Removing oneself from Celestial Storm:

If a member of CS removes him/herself from the guild and wishes to rejoin CS, they will waive their previous rights as a CS member and must go through the full process of rejoining the guild. See above Step #1.

** Leaving the guild is not to be taken lightly and could jeopardize chances of rejoining. **
Etiquette Guide
This Etiquette Guide will serve as a guide for you to help you increase your social enjoyment in Celestial Storm and in Everquest. A lot of the fun in Everquest comes from our social interaction with other people. Being able to 'get along' with others and communicate effectively will help you form relationships with people that will increase your enjoyment Everquest.

This is Real
To begin with, I would like to address a common misconception that people have when dealing with other people in EQ.

“Because Everquest is a game, then everything associated with Everquest must also be a game.”

True my character is not real, simply a short little ranger with pointy ears. But I, the player, am very real. You cannot make my character hurt, but you might be able to make me hurt. You cannot make my wife’s character cry but you can make my wife cry. When someone quits CS, my character does not care, but I do. All these things are real and therefore not a game. Just remember, the members of CS are all friends and we need to treat each other that way. Think about what you say before you say it. Think about how it might sound or effect another person before you press the enter key. You can’t take it back once you’ve sent it. Whenever possible, let your actions have positive affects.

Age and Maturity
It was not the intent of CS to force our members to an age limit. It is true that there is an exception to every rule and we have a few of them in CS now, but for the most part those players who have been “booted” from the ranks of CS for extremely inappropriate behavior, were all under the age of 21. Those applying for membership to CS are expected to be over the age of 21 and conduct themselves with maturity.

Communicating witin Guildchat or Chat Channels
Communication within the guild channel has been a big source of problems for Celestial Storm in the past. If gone unchecked, it can lead to hurt feelings and drama all around. We have enough drama in our real lives lets not have any in game. People don't always think about what they are saying and how it affects other people. For every message that you type into the guild chat channel, every member in CS will be seeing that message. This is a powerful tool and if used correctly can be a great benefit for the guild. Newer players can ask veteran players for help or advice. Members can talk about getting together to group. I am sure there are other things guild chat is good for, but you get the idea. Also, some people type messages that are hostile and blatantly offensive to people. Just because you think that talking about what you did with a goat is ok, doesn't mean other people won't be horrified! Think about what you are saying before you press the enter key.

Respect
You will often find this word used to mean "an attitude of admiration or esteem" or "courteous regard for people's feelings." We can't say who you are going to have "an attitude of admiration or esteem" towards. There will be people you like and people you don't like. Your respect should be given to the Guild Leader and Officer Council members at the very least to start with. But a "courteous regard for people's feelings" is expected from all our members. Be friendly toward everyone both in CS and those outside of CS.

Leaving Celestial Storm
For Celestial Storm to be successful, our members must be committed to staying with the guild and not quitting. By joining Celestial Storm, we expect that you will stay with us for life. That may sound strange, but there is a reason why I say this. Let's say you meet someone who you really like and have all kinds of great things in common with and you become friends. Most people don't think, well here's someone I can use for a while just for camaraderie and when I get tired of him/her then I can just ditch them. No, most people don't say that. Most people think that you all are friends forever, pinky shakes and all. When there is a problem, you do your best to solve it instead of quitting on your friendship. But if you feel that we are no longer worthy of you affiliation, then so be it. Different people will react differently. Some will say go my friend and find your destiny. Others will be hurt and feel betrayed. And other's will be upset and tell you to do 'you know what.' It's just the way things are. Celestial Storm is more of a Fraternity/Sorority then a Chess Club.

We understand that you may want to make sure this is the guild for you and just want to give us a trial run. Be honest with us and tell us that up front. We may allow you to see if CS is for you. We know it’s a big decision. But if you are honest, you won't hurt our feelings if you quit and you won't lose our respect.

Grouping with Guildmembers
Grouping with guildmembers is an important part of Celestial Storm. It's the best way to form bonds of friendship with your fellow guildmates. By helping each other out, you both will become better and more powerful. For example, at level 52 a player can group with a guildmate who as low as level 35. Since there are places that a level 52 can solo, when they bring a couple of level 35 guildmates along, sure they are sacrificing some experience, but the benefits far outweigh the cost. A selfless act will create a bond of friendship that often times pays you back 10 fold later on. How many times has a higher level member extended a hand to help you out and you felt incredibly grateful because of it. Those that you help out will also be just as grateful. This gives the higher level characters a chance to get to know the people that are playing the lower level characters and furthers the bonds of friendship and enjoyment by everyone in the guild. There are lots of places to go at all levels where you only need two or three people to do really well and have lots of fun.

When you log in the first thing you should do is type /who all GUILD. See who you can group with and send them a tell asking them if they want to get together. Chances are you'll find many of them busy or too far away. Ask anyways, they may not be busy a little later and by asking, you've showed that 1) you care about them enough to ask them to hang out with you, and 2) that you are interested in doing something if something comes up later. It may be difficult to do, but ask that person that has refused you every time you've asked. Just work down the list and ask everyone that you could group with according to level. Don't just ask those lower in level, ask up too.

If you have no luck in finding a guildmate to group with, which sometimes happens, start looking to our allies. Do the same thing with them. Make a /who all list and start sending tells. Currently, our allies are numerous. They are grouped into two affiliations: Drinal Alliance and Drinal’s Family.

Drinal Alliance Guilds Are:
Red Maces, White Wind, Mystic Legacy, Phoenix Order, Silver Hawks, and Soulbonded.

Drinal’s Family Guilds Are:
Forsaken Fellowship, Soldiers of Blood, Diplomatic Immunity, and Visus Fidelis.

There are a wealth of people to do things with, all you have to do is ask.

If you group with Celestial Storm members you will be making the Guild stronger. If you group with Alliance members you will be making our Alliance stronger. If you group with strangers or your friends list, then you are only making yourself stronger.

Group vs. Individual Thinking
Everquest is so group oriented that one really needs to shift their thinking from what betters oneself to what betters the guild. By bettering the guild, you will be bettering yourself. That takes a lot of judgement calls. You have to ask yourself that if I do this action, will it be beneficial in anyway to Celestial Storm?

Lets say I have this item. I don't know if I should give it away to a guildmate that I don't know very well or sell it. Well, I know if I get some Deepwater Pants, then I will be a much better tank for the guild and anyways, I gotta take some consideration for myself. So I decide I can sell this item for a 700pp profit. But if I sell to a non guildmember the guild only gets better by getting 700pp closer to my Deepwater pants. But if I sell it to a guildmate, then in a way, the guild gets stronger by the item and stronger because I'm 700pp closer to my pants. But lets say, that I really want to give my guildmates a deal, so they can spend some money on other things because I know at their level money is tight. So I give them a deal and only make 400pp profit, which lets them either buy the item they couldn't afford or keep that 200pp in the bank. That way the guild wins three times.

I'm not saying what you should do with your stuff. It's yours and we respect that. Just ask yourself what benefits the guild the most.

Recently I came across a full suit of bard gear. I don’t play a bard of any significant level but had a guildmate that was in his low 40’s. He still had a lot of low level armor and desprately needed an upgrade. Now I didn’t pay anything for this armor and the only benefit I would have gotten from it was if I sold it for plat to buy myself something. But I chose to give it all to my guildmate who I knew would be quite grateful for the gifts. I can’t tell you how excited I was to give him his new gear. It was a total blast. Watching the guy get all excited was one of the coolest EQ days I have ever had. The guild got stronger, my friendship with him got stronger, and he gave me all his old gear I used on my lvl 3 bard and so I got stronger too (in a manner of speaking).

Not your Servants
It is a goal of the leaders of the guild to encourage a constructive guild environment that is conducive to your obtainment of weapons and armor and coin that will make you a better player and thus Celestial Storm better as a whole. Put simply, we want to get loot for you, but we are not your servants. We are not here to provide you with fun or entertain you. If members do help you, they often do so without any personal gain. These unselfish actions should be cherished, not expected.
3-Strike Policy
The majority of these offences will have a warning preceding a strike. This list does not single one person out. This will serve for Officers as well as Members. All of these instances abide by our charter and abide by our laws. The following will serve as a Guideline. This is not limited to only these offences. This is what we as a guild find to be Strikeable offences. Any member breaking any one of these offences will be given a strike. Some offences are warranted Detrimental to the Guild and may be punished by immediate removal. Entirely it is up to the discretion of the council to interpret each situation as it arises and use these rules as a guideline. If no council members are available to make a decision, then those officers that are online should attempt to contact the offending member directly via /tell and attempt to correct the situation. If the member refuses to listen to reason or correct their misconduct then the officer online at that time must inform the offending member that even though they may feel justified for their actions that they are disrupting the stability of the entire guild and must stop now or be temporarily removed until a council member can decide if removal was warranted and/or permanent. Officers MUST be prepared to answer for their own actions as well. The officers of the Celestial Storm do not have the luxury of making biased or emotional decisions but must use both their understanding of the guild's charter, our three strike policy, and their best judgment. Officers have been appointed because they uphold the charter to the letter and defend the guild's honor by ensuring that CS is a fun, safe, and respectful environment to play in. The following is a list of Strikeable offenses:

1. Blatant disrespect of Leaders/Officers/members. We are all family. We defend our family and sometimes we must defend our family from it's very own members. This is a matter of the first law of the Celestial Charter.

2. Talking in negative light about Celestial Storm. (Defamation of Celestial Storm)

3. Ninja Looting

4. This might be a "false witness" issue or "rolling on an item that in NOT an upgrade to your main's gear and saying it is."

5. Fraud/Cheating another member inside or outside the guild.

6. Stealing from another player inside or outside the guild.

7. Kill Stealing any individual or Training mobs upon someone. Training someone by mistake sometimes happens but you better do everything in your power to rez those you have trained and/or make right your wrong. This is a matter of defending the guild's reputation and honor.

8. Repeated begging of anything. This includes but is not limited to:
A: Begging for money
B: Begging for Group Gates
C: Begging for Rezzes
D: Begging for Power leveling
E: Begging items from another player
(Begging is considered to be harassment. We do not tolerate the harassment of Players.)

9. Spamming guild chat or any other channel will not be tolerated. (Say it once fine. Say it again because you don't think anyone heard you, fine. Third time is considered spamming). Using guild chat or any public forum to "flame" or use abusive language is not tolerated. To be a member of CS you must hold yourself to a high standard. This means you control your temper make the extra effort to calmly express yourself. If you feel you have been wronged then you send the person or persons a tell and attempt to reconcile your differences. If necessary, ask an officer/mutual friend/non-biased guild mate to mediate the disagreement. If that does not work then use the Celestial Charter and this 3-Strike Policy to come to a close.

10. Learn the Celestial Charter and it's Laws. There are only 6 of them. Respect them. Abide by them. Live them. Refresh yourself with them periodically.

11. Camp Stealing - Taking over someone else's single spawn camp.

12. Talk of starting another guild or the formation of another guild. This can lead to immediate removal.

13. Going /Anon instead of /Role. If you feel there is a reason for you to be /anon present yourself to the guild council and give us your reasoning to avoid a possible strike.

Any one of these offences will be considered unbecoming of a Celestial Storm member. We have a reputation to uphold. We will not let this be tarnished.
